A Cardiff based charity dedicated to overcoming homelessness in Wales is setting up a new service in Powys and we’re recruiting passionate, talented and tenacious people to join them at this exciting time.

You’ll be a skilled and empathic manager to lead a new supported housing team in Powys. We‘re looking for a committed person who is able to provide high quality support and supervision to teams in a support accommodated project for young people aged 16+.

You will have a background in support provision and project management, able to motivate individuals and teams to provide high quality support to young people and vulnerable adults. You will ensure services are providing trauma informed support and psychologically informed environments. You will also ensure all colleagues work closely with local agencies including colleges, training providers, YOT / Probation, Social Services, other third sector organisations etc

You’ll be working alongside passionate and supportive colleagues in a rewarding environment, where you’ll be making a huge contribution to creating a Wales without homelessness, every single day.

Location: South Powys, Llandrindod Wells or Newtown with the ability to work from home for part of the working week 

Contract: Full-time, Permanent 

Hours: Working hours are 35 hours a week, between Monday to Friday (9:30am-5pm) 

Salary: Full Time - £25,983 per annum

Flexibility is required to work outside of these hours to support, supervise & work alongside all members of the team.  There may also be a requirement to provide cover for direct support to young people, due to staff absences.

Projects Managers take part in the On Call rota providing On Call support and advice for project teams, with issues and emergencies they may need to deal with.  This may require providing some shift cover / out of hours project attendance where alternatives are not possible.

Personal qualities:

  • Positive attitude towards people with support needs & risk issues.
  • Experience of working on own initiative and in partnership with other senior team members.
  • Willingness to cover for project staff in their absence and undertake any reasonable duty that is necessary to the smooth running of the organisation.

Additionally an understanding of and commitment to:

  • The principles of Equal Opportunities & anti-discriminatory practise
  • The principles of confidentiality & GDPR
  • Safeguarding mechanisms i.e. Child Protection / Vulnerable Adults / MARAC / SERAF / MAPPA.
  • Work within Health & Safety at Work regulations

Desirable Education: Educated to Diploma level or equivalent (QCF Level 2 or 3).


  • Experience of successful staff management and supervision
  • Experience of successfully liaising with a variety of agencies
  • Ability to understand and work within budget restrictions


  • Ability to resolve conflict with colleagues, individuals supported and external bodies in a clear and fair manner
  • Ability to adapt and work within constant change
  • Ability to co-ordinate and effectively manage a diverse support team
